Ringing in the new year with new management

In 2024, we're excited to start a new chapter in our lives - retirement!  Beginning this year, our friends Brett and Stephanie Wertz (along with their son Colton) will take over the reins, tending to the daily duties of caring for our ranch and all our cattle. Brett and Stephanie are no strangers to our ranch. They have been helping us the past few years and not only share our ranching philosophy, but our love for this property and our animals.   When we introduced Wagyu cattle to our ranch 15 years ago, we had no idea where this business would take us. Wagyu - a unique Japanese breed - was virtually unknown in the U. S. at that time.  In a few short years,  however, the fame of Wagyu began to spread worldwide and, with its increased popularity, we saw our business flourish.  Making a living on cattle, especially on a small operation like ours, is extremely difficult. We couldn’t even break even for the first several years and almost gave up on this venture more than once.  However
